Monroe County Marcellus Shale Forum Scheduled

My last blog concerning natural gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale formation focused on what has been happening recently in Wayne County, but Monroe County is also beginning to have conversations about the potential benefits and drawbacks of extracting gas from this huge natural formation.
A few days ago, the
Pocono Record reported that the
League of Women Voters of Monroe County will host a free, public forum at the Hughes Eastern Monroe Library Community Room at 10 AM on March 6th to discuss the perspectives of speakers representing a variety of backgrounds.
The League of Women Voters is in the midst of a one-year study to figure out the effect that drilling will have on Pennsylvania's natural resources, infrastructure, tourism and economy. It stresses that anyone living on the formation or in the counties with pipelines could be impacted.
