We've all seen them, right?  I'm talking about the warnings on lighters or fuel containers saying, "Caution:  Flammable," or on household cleaners saying, "Caution:  Do not spray in eyes."  Really?  Thanks.  Accident averted - that was close.  I'm sure you have your own favorites.

And don't think that my being a lawyer prevents me from hearing all the lawyer jokes and complaints about how litigious our society has become; I've heard them all.

But the fact is, there are times when a property owner's negligence leads to another person's injuries, and in such cases, hiring a lawyer to help you recover financial damages for medical care, lost wages and pain and suffering might be necessary.

Property owners have a legal obligation to take reasonable action to ensure that their property is free from hazardous situations that could cause injury.  If a property owner knows about a hazard and does nothing to fix it or to warn visitors about the danger, then he or she may be held liable in a Scranton premises liability lawsuit.

A Scranton premises liability attorney can help you review the circumstances of your accident and determine whether property owner negligence led to your injuries.  Contact a Scranton premises liability lawyer from Rogan Law today for a free initial case evaluation.

  Scranton Serious Injury

Today's Times-Tribune reports recent polls showing that a majority of Pennsylvanians believe our state is on the wrong track, with nearly three quarters of us rating our state government as fair or poor, and only about one quarter rating it as good.

Pennsylvanians' low confidence in politicians at both the state and federal level apparently is yielding widespread pessimism and skepticism about economic recovery, even in the face of forecasted economic resurgence.

In times like these, unexpected incidents that cause serious injuries can put people who were already struggling over the edge.  Serious injuries, also called catastrophic injuries or critical injuries, can be caused by an array of events and virtually any kind of accident, and can turn accident victims' lives upside down.

If you or your loved one has been treated for serious injuries sustained in an accident caused by someone else's negligence, then a Scranton serious injury attorney from Rogan Law can help you.  Rogan Law is passionate about helping you in your time of need.  Contact a Scranton serious injury lawyer at Rogan Law today.

  Luzerne County Personal Injury

Today's Times Leader informed readers about a strange series of events that allegedly included a man's taking an unwilling passenger on a high-speed drive, his forcing the passenger to jump from a moving van, and his setting the van on fire outside a Plains Township car dealership.

The events had "Luzerne County personal injury" written all over them.

The man was charged with making terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, reckless driving and disorderly conduct, and jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility (promising to flee if released on bail).

The man did receive burns to his face as a result of the fire he set; it is amazing that no one else was seriously hurt as a result of his actions.

Anytime one person's recklessness results in another person's injuries, legal issues are at stake.  If you have been injured in any kind of accident, a Luzerne County personal injury attorney can help you understand your rights and figure out whether you might be entitled to compensation.

At Rogan Law, we take pride in advocating for accident victims' rights and in striving to provide our clients with personalized attention and innovative, effective legal strategies.  A Luzerne County personal injury lawyer from Rogan Law can help you maximize your opportunities for recovering financial compensation after a serious accident.

As swine flu becomes a national health emergency and as families continue to wait for vaccines to become available, the Times-Tribune reports that absentee rates in our local schools are on the rise, and increasing numbers of people are reaching out to their doctors.

But what happens when your doctor, the one you trust with your health and even your life, fails you?  Doctors, physicians, nurses and all other medical professionals have an obligation to their patients to provide a standard level of care according to currently accepted practices.  When this does not occur, serious injury may result.

If you or a loved one has been injured because of medical malpractice or negligence on the part of a medical professional or medical care facility, then contact a Scranton medical malpractice attorney at Rogan Law today.

A Scranton medical malpractice lawyer from Rogan Law will work with medical experts and will conduct a careful review of your case in order to determine precisely how and where negligence occurred.  This preliminary finding of negligence is necessary before you can bring a lawsuit against the doctor, nurse, surgeon or other medical professional responsible for your injuries.  If you've been injured, then contact Northeast PA personal injury lawyer at Rogan Law today.

Seriously Injured in an Accident in Scranton
Posted By Patrick M. Rogan

You may have heard or read reports over the last several months about a young woman who was seriously injured in an accident in Scranton:  Riding her bicycle home from a nighttime event, it seems she hit uneven ground and flew off her bike, hitting her head.

The young woman is a friend of my niece’s, so I have followed her story.

She is recovering well, and the community has shown amazing support for her and her family.  But in the few days following her accident, her terrified loved ones had to make difficult decisions about her care, inform others about her condition, worry about medical bills, etc., all under conditions of intense, unyielding stress.

Unfortunately, accidents happen all the time.  Even more unfortunately, they often happen when one person or entity does something that causes another person’s injuries.  Under such stressful conditions, it can be difficult to know what to do.

When you or someone you love is involved in an accident and sustains personal injuries, you should consult an experienced Scranton personal injury attorney as soon as possible. Personal injury law is designed to assert your rights and to protect your interests following an accident, but you will not be able to fully access that assertion and protection without a skilled personal injury lawyer working for you.

If you've been seriously injured in an accident in Scranton or anywhere in northeast Pennsylvania and the PoconoMountain region, then call Rogan Law and schedule a free consultation with a Scranton personal injury lawyer today.
